Joint Supplements

I have found that I can purchase joint supplements with the same amounts of gluocosomine(sp),MSM, chondroitin and kelp product for less money in the big box stores than if I purchase them from vets,pet stores or veterinary supply stores. If you find a product that works simply write down what is in it and then go compare at your local pharmacy or vitamin shop etc.
I just saved $40.00 on a jar of supplements that I usually pay $80.00 .
My vet made this shopping suggestion believe it or not.

I have noticed too that you can get them from CVS and Walmart pretty cheap.

If you compare the pet products at Walmart with the same human products at Walmart I bet the human will be cheaper still. Anything with a pet picture or marketed to pets is higher from what I've noticed. I did pick up these supplements from Walmart in the human section-

Yep like this stuff is for humans and puppers and can be bought at CVSm Walmart or anywhere really..

Benedryl is less expensive at WallyWorld than it is from the vet too. I always have to stop my vet in mid stroke of writing a script for his nurses to fill with benedryl-
(they write scripts for all meds there whether controlled or not)

Yup, I have Atreyu on G&C with MSM right now. I bought it at either Costco or Sam's Club (can't remember off the top of my head) and it was only aprx $25 for TWO bottles. ONE bottle of the pet stuff would have cost me aprx $85-$90. Huge savings!

I found this out about Benadryl when Jessi took Hannah to the Vet and came home with a bottle of 25 Benadryl and it cost like 20.00 I opened up the bottle, thinking it would at least look different than the human kind that I can get generic of 100 capsules for under 4.00 at WalMart and much to my surprise, there was no difference in the appearance. I never even thought to use human form Benadryl until that happened

Benadryl, or a lot of the products that I use have been purchased through walmart, CVS, or else where far cheaper. However the K9 Joint Strong I use for Major cannot be located else where, but I always search to see if I can purchase it cheaper else where.

its very true that many of the OTC drugs/supplements marketed/packaged for animals are the same as the human equivalent - and the price is usually higher to buy the "animal version"

definitely a good suggestion to compare and see if you can find the human equivalent...just be sure you are getting the same ingredients - and if there are additional ingredients, verify that they are safe for your pets (and if so, what the safe dosage/limits are as well...)
