Roxie's 14 yr check up

Well the old girl's strange behavior's of staring and walking around things that aren't there has a cause. Her eye lenses are deterioating with old age.No physical causes like cataracts, just age. She probably has a lot of tunnel vision or sees a lot of cloudy shadows. I have to watch if she can't figure out how to get from point A to B or out of a corner on her own, as that is cognitive. We tested her quite extensively so ,so far so good.

She is starting to develop a lot of old age warts and tags but one on her right side bears watching as its bigger and different color.

Her weight is good, heart, ears, teeth and nose are all good No fleas, worms etc. Good to go.

sorry her vision is nto so good - poor thing.. some of the cognitive slowing down/confusion could be Canine Cognitive Dysfuntion (there is a sticky in the Senior Health forum I think...) kind of like a doggie alzheimers...there is medication if it becomes severe or hindering her too much called Anipryl, but its a bit pricey...Glad that she checked out okay otherwise Give that silver sweetie a big hug for me!

Love the seniors and sounds like your girl is a VERY healthy 14 year old.Congrats Hope all 3 of ours are so fortunate!!!

Sorry about her vision--I had that with Mia and she managed to get around pretty well. I did have to watch her in case she got stuck somewhere and didn't know how to get out, also we had to keep furniture and stuff pretty much in the same place.

Overall sounds like a good check up for your sweet girl. Would love to see some pix of Roxie when you get the chance.

She's doing pretty darn good for a 14 yr. old! I'd love to see pics too! Samantha is 11 and beginning to get cataracts--not too bad yet.

Well for 14 years old that isn't too bad of a check up report. Paws crossed her eyesight doesn't continue to deteriorate and the no so normal tag growth is benign.

WOW what a great check up for a 14 year old You can tell Miss Roxie has an awesome MOMMY to be so healthy at the ripe ole age of 14 years old

My old girl was 16 1/2 when I helped her to the bridge and by that time she was totally deaf and blind, but we loved her so much and I know she loved us equally as much

I would LOVE to see pics of Roxie too
