So I'm cleaning it out and keeping an eye on it. Well last night she got up on the bed and laid next to me--gag! I could smell her ear from where I was. It doesn't smell foul, just kind of mediciny, metallic, if you know what I mean. Guess it could be the blood smell, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I have a call into the vet and we are going in tomorrow. Some p & ps would be greatly appreciated. Our neighbor has an Oak tree that hangs over our yard, it is finally old enough to produce Acorns and OMG is it producing, those suckers are all over our yard, consequently Savannah is constantly being caught eating them and Diego did as well when they were staying here, of course I made them stop. Joe and I are constantly cleaning them up out of the yard to prevent the dogs eating them. I looked it up on the internet, checked five sites and all five said they were/can be toxic to dogs. We informed the neighbor of this, as she has a dog herself, she said she ask a Vet and was told they are NOT toxic. Went to the vet today and he actually had his cone off for a little bit (I have not taken it off AT ALL- I just figured better safe than sorry because all it would take is one swipe and his toenails could get caught on one of his stitches and Oh! what a painful mess he would be in!)

He was in a mid lick I think- he couldn't believe that he could actually see and lick himself again- LOL

The vet said everything looks really good, he still has a bit of a bacterial infection, so she sent me home with a new antibiotic (Cephalexin) that he has to be on for 10 days, and a Baytril solution that I have to put in his ear canal twice a day.

Next Monday he gets his stitches out!!! :yay:

I am so proud of him! Even with all of the painful things he has gone through at the vet lately, he was full of kisses for everyone today.
