i seen on here alot of ppl were talking about chicken soup.i had never heard about it before.i called the feed and seed store to ask about food with no corn.
she said she had Diamond dog food.we started talking about it and she said Diamond also makes chicken soup. i had NO idea.i always thought Diamond was a cheap no good brand.guess i was wrong.
price:
8lb-5.50
20lb-12.00
40lb-19.95
VERY GOOD.alot cheaper than the iam's we bought.i'm not sure if we will use the
diamond large breed puppy or chicken soup.the chicken soup is only like 2 dollars more.did anyone know that Diamond made this? i thought the chicken soup was some high priced food.glad it isn't.i also seen that the chicken soup had antioxidents in it for cancer.so that was really good.i read on a post that this food made the dogs have a ton of STINKY gas,is this true?
I voted yes.
We use Chicken Soup and Diamond for both the cats and dogs. We found out recently that Diamond and Chicken Soup were made by the same company. Iams and Eukanuba are also made by the same company. I am sure there are others that make several different brands of food with different names.
As far as gas, you have a boxer and are just going to have to deal with it no matter what you feed him :D

the regular diamond has corn something in it and the soup doesn't.so is the regular diamond still ok? i haven't bought either yet?? you said u use both,do u mix it or what?
once i decide which one i want,i need to stay on just that one right?
We feed them the dry Diamond Beef Meal & Rice (2 cups) mixed with a half can of Chicken Soup. I just looked at the contents of the Diamond and Corn wasn't listed. I know someo of the Diamond products use corn, you just have to read and see which ones don't.

The difference between Diamond and it's Chicken Soup is that Chicken Soup is human grade - the ingredients you are starting with *could* be fed to human. In Diamond, that's not the case.
The issue w/Chicken Soup and gas is that it has dairy which can upset some dog's stomachs. Less gas, in my experience, than feeding a corn food, but still possibly some if the dog's tummy doesn't like dairy. You can actually have a boxer with very little gas, given the right food, but as long as you feed treats, etc, you are bound to get a stink bomb on occasion.

ive toggled between chicken soup and canidae.. both seem to be good quality human grade food...
but chicken soup definetly give my dog more gas...
i dont care.. its kind of funny.. blu will stretch forward paws forward with his srawny butt hunched in the air as he stretches and then he lets big noisy ones out... its very funny...

like xm said.. chicken soup is human grade....
for years (8.5) i fed my dog purina one... it was ok.. but i switched to canidae and i really noticed a big difference in her coat and her odor...
for the few extra dollars.. if you can afford.. id use the human grade food...
heres a good site that shows whjats in a lot of common brands of food...

i see on here where some ppl don't like the chicken soup.human grade is the best though right? the feed and seed store right down the road has it and very affordable.
i can't afford the real real expensive stuff.he's on iam's right now.guess i'll be weaning him off that this week onto the chicken soup.
